Prefer path-scoped Cursor rules over always-on
A Cursor rule with alwaysApply: true is injected on every turn, even when you are nowhere near the files it cares about. Ten always-on rules add up fast and crowd out the task.
Quick fix: prefer path-scoped rules with globs (for example src/api/** or **/*.test.ts) so the text loads only when the agent is working in matching files. Keep alwaysApply for the few rules that truly every turn needs — and never paste the same Always/Never into both AGENTS.md and .cursor/rules.
